Open Door Foundation

THE NEED: $100,000.00

About the project

Romania is an international center for human trafficking. The country is known to be a source, transit, and destination spot for children, women, and men who are trafficked into sexual exploitation and forced labor. In the face of this evil, the Open Door Foundation ministers to women who are survivors of sex trafficking.

Located in Bucharest, the residential shelter is the only one of its kind in Romania. The Open Door Foundation provides counseling, medical care, legal assistance, vocational training, protected housing, and pastoral care for trafficking survivors. Not only do women find protection and opportunities for healing and rehabilitation, but they also experience Christ-like love through the care of Christian staff members and volunteers from a local Nazarene church.

At the Open Door, survivors of trafficking not only gain the opportunity for a new way of life—free from the horrors of slavery—but many of the women also come to experience new life through faith in Christ.

Your gift will go toward the support of the residential shelter, including costs related to counseling, medical care, legal assistance, and vocational training.
