WHAT WE DO
Nazarene Compassionate Ministries projects around the world.
CIS Vocational Training for Women and Youth
GIVING CODE:
ACM1578
REGION:
Eurasia
About the project
Field: Commonwealth of Independent States (former Soviet Union)
THE NEED:
Jobs are hard to come by in most CIS communities. Many of the young people attending the Church of the Nazarene do not have access to employment opportunities, especially those coming from rehabilitation centers. Mothers also often have trouble generating income to provide for their children. Local churches can offer opportunities for vocational training provided by volunteers. For example, sewing machines enable adults with special needs and mothers of children with special needs to earn a living while working from home.
Equipment and tools are necessary to provide training and to help set trainees up for success. Funds will be used to help churches purchase equipment, improve what they have, and help people create small businesses.
OUR WORK:
We aim to help young people from churches and rehabilitation centers to start small businesses and create opportunities for income to provide for their families and themselves, as well as to support the local church through their offerings and tithes.
HOW YOU CAN HELP:
For $25 you can provide training materials
For $50 you can help provide carpentry tools.
For $200 you can help purchase a sewing machine.
For $1,500 you can provide support for the start of a small business.
